HikingEurope Project

 

Discovering rural Europe through hiking trails

Hiking Europe, project leaded by the Catalan Tourism Board and funded under COSME programme to develop a transnational network of hiking trails in Europe. The aim is to discover cultural and natural heritage of the project involved territories through rural tourism routes. Catalonia, Emilia-Romagna (Italy), Dubrovnik-Neretva (Croatia) and Donegal (Ireland) are the regional partners of the project. Pirineu Emoció is the business partner and Girona University is the academic partner. Other partners are NIT (German Research Institute) and NFI (Nature Friends International), an austrian NGO especialised on nature and sustainability.

The Hiking Europe project had a global budget of 329,832 euros and was co-financed at 75% by the European COSME program for the competitiveness of companies and SMEs, through its call for 2015.
