Sports World Congress

Next February, Barcelona will host the first Sports World Congress, an international event that is presented as a public-private meeting space for professionals, experts and companies in the sports sector. The congress will be held on February 3, 4 and 5, 2025 in various emblematic spaces of the Catalan capital.
This first edition will have the participation of representatives of the stadiums and the host cities and sub-sites of the 2030 World Cup. The event will bring together delegations from Spain, Portugal and Morocco, the three host countries of the World Cup, which will highlight the positive impact of the tournament for millions of citizens. Benefits include job creation, infrastructure improvement, attraction of tourism, boosting foreign investment, and transformation of the sports industry. It is estimated that the organization of the tournament will generate revenues of 10,000 million euros for Spain, with an impact of 5,000 million on GDP and 5,000 million more from sports tourism.

Triple Sports impact
The Sports World Congress not only seeks to address the challenges and opportunities of the sports business, but also to promote an open and transversal dialogue on the impact that large sporting events can generate on citizens, which will be the center of the debate. The SWC 2025 includes three days of activities, three different themes and three unique spaces:
Day 1: February 3 – Stadium Forum.
This forum is exclusive to representatives of the stadiums of the 2030 World Cup and companies with products and solutions for stadiums, as well as federative representatives. The challenges that stadiums must address in order to face the organization of the largest sporting event in the world will be discussed. This forum, by exclusive invitation, has already reached the “sold-out”, reaffirming the great interest and expectation that it generates among companies in the sector.
Day 2: February 4th – Impact Forum.
The Impact Forum, which will take place at the INEFC in Barcelona, will be the central event of the Sports World Congress. This unique day will be dedicated to analyze the triple impact – social, economic and environmental – that the organization of major sporting events, such as the 2030 World Cup, can generate in the countries, cities, venues and sub-participants.
3rd day: February 5th – Beyond 2030.
On the third day all SWC delegates will be able to attend the ISE, the most important technical fair in the audiovisual sector and which attracts more than 70,000 attendees from around the world to Barcelona. The SWC is born around the ISE, due to the valuable synergies that exist between the audiovisual sector and the world of sport.
A city that is committed to sport and innovation
Barcelona consolidates its leadership as a global sports city and as an epicentre of innovation and business. The Sports World Congress plans to fill the INEFC auditorium with attendees mainly from Spain, Portugal and Morocco, but also with representatives of other nationalities, including sports clubs, federations, sponsors, sports tourism companies and
other key players in the sports industry.
