Jacob González-Solís Doctor in the Department of Animal Biology of the UB 6th Annual International Conference of Albatrosses and Petrels (Barcelona, September 2016) “It is the first time that this congress was held in Europe and the local effect attracted researchers from neighbouring countries and gave visibility to species from a Mediterranean perspective. The Organising Committee that I led was made up of eight scientists, among which were doctorate students who benefitted greatly from the experience. We took on the majority of tasks, but delegated the processing of registrations. The congress brought together 160 people and we sought spaces that would make it special, such as the auditorium of the UB for the speeches or the Fabra Observatory for the welcome reception. We believe that the conference will be remembered and they have increased our prestige within the scientific community: we are now an international reference. With this in mind, we want to thank the University of Barcelona for the organisational facilities they have given us.” |

Josep Maria Reniu i Vilamala Head of Studies of Political Science and Administration of the UB “For the working meeting of deans and heads of studies of the degree courses in Political Sciences and Administration from all over the state, we asked for help from the Ambassadors Programme. We wanted to offer our visitors material about the potential of our country in the organisation of work events —in our case, academic—, that at the same time was enriched by a very relevant cultural and leisure offer. The Programme enables the attendees to have a quality view of the possibilities that Catalonia and, specifically, Barcelona, offers the visitor”. |
