Officially recognised Sports Tourism Destinations

The Sports Tourism Label awarded by the Catalan Tourist Board to 11 municipalities throughout Catalonia, guarantees high competition sportspeople and sports-loving tourists that they have the high-quality infrastructures and services for the sport. The 11 municipalities provide them with modern equipment and the latest technologies, as well as other services adapted to the sports people. 

L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona): The Barcelona county town stands out for its facilities completely equipped for athletics, swimming, football and group sports, as well as for its large hotel offer.

Calella (Costa Barcelona): On the Maresme coastline, Calella offers facilities for swimming, football, running, athletics and road cycling that have brought it the award.


Castelldefels (Costa Barcelona): One of the subsites of the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, it has the Olympic Canal which has specialized in still-water rowing and canoeing.


Santa Susanna (Costa Barcelona): The town offers amateurs and elite sports-people top class facilities and installations for football, group sports, sailing and road cycling.

Girona (Costa Brava): A town which stands out for its history and architecture, with magnificent natural surroundings and sports facilities for athletics, swimming, tennis, running and cycling.

Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava): One of the best destinations for nautical activities, athletics, group sports, swimming, football and cycling, also offering a wide variety of tourist resources.

Cambrils (Costa Daurada): A sea town certified in athletics, cycling, football and sailing, this is a starting place and finish for three cycle routes on the Costa Daurada, with specialised accommodation.

Salou (Costa Daurada): Salou is an international reference for football with its Football Sports Complex, and for dinghy sailing, and also has a large offer of accommodation and activities.

Sort (Pirineus): This town in the Pyrenees of Lleida is also known for the Noguera Pallaresa river, the cradle of wild water canoeing and adventure sports, and for its natural parks.

Amposta (Terres de l’Ebre): At the foot of the river Ebro, the Rowing Technification Centre facilities attract still-water rowing lovers, and international teams also train there.

L’Ametlla de Mar (Terres de l’Ebre): With its 17 kilometres of coastline and 25 beaches awarded for their environmental quality, L’Ametlla de Mar in 2015 was awarded the label for sailing and diving.
